One of the most significant and curated examples of a historic house museum in all of Europe, the magnificent residence of the Querini Stampalia family is recreated on the second floor.
Original furnishings, paintings, frescoes, and objects create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that chronicles the life and ties of the family and the spirit of the city.
Not to be missed during the visit: the masterpiece The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple by Giovanni Bellini and scenes of Venetian life by Pietro Longhi and Gabriel Bella.
While preserving the atmosphere of the past, the museum itinerary mixes ancient art and contemporary works.
On the third floor, the tour continues with pieces from the Intesa Sanpaolo Collection: in particular, two paintings by Canaletto, Domenico Tintoretto’s large sketch of Paradise and Giambattista Tiepolo’s sketch of the Last Judgment, as well as works by great masters of the Venetian school through Ippolito Caffi and Guglielmo Ciardi. Sculptures include works by Arturo Martini and Alberto Viani.
